Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Formsmith marketing website (the pages under formsmith.app) collects and why. It covers this website only. It does not describe a self-hosted Formsmith instance you run yourself, which sends nothing to us (see Your data).
Formsmith is operated by Gnana Siva Sai V (the project owner). For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the owner is the data controller for information collected through this site. You can reach the owner at [email protected].
The short version
- We do not run analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers on this website.
- We only collect information you deliberately submit: a waitlist email address, or answers you send through a form on this site.
- When you self-host Formsmith, your respondents' data lives on your infrastructure. We never receive it.
What we collect, and why
Waitlist email
If you join the hosted-tier waitlist, we store the email address you provide (and any optional answers you add) so we can notify you when the hosted service opens. That is the only purpose. We do not sell it, and we do not add it to unrelated marketing.
The interactive demo
The one-question-at-a-time demo on the homepage runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into it is transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
Theme preference
We store a single value in your browser's local storage to remember your light or dark theme choice. It never leaves your device and is not used to identify or track you.
Basic server logs
Our hosting and content-delivery providers process standard technical information (such as IP address and request metadata) to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this for advertising or cross-site tracking.
What we do not collect
- No advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies.
- No analytics product measuring how you browse the site.
- No respondent data from self-hosted instances. There is no data path from your server to ours.
Retention
We keep waitlist emails until the hosted tier launches and you have been notified, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first. You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time (see Contact); because we collect so little, honoring these requests is straightforward.
Sub-processors
We rely on a small number of third-party providers to operate this site. Each processes only what is described below.
- Cloudflare, Inc.provides DNS, TLS, content delivery, and abuse protection. Requests to formsmith.app pass through Cloudflare's network.
- Resend delivers the email we send you (for example, a waitlist confirmation or update). It processes the email address you submit.
- Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd.) provides the virtual private server that hosts this site and the waitlist form. Standard server logs are processed there.
International transfers
The providers above may process data outside your country. We keep the data we collect to the minimum described here, which is limited to an email address and optional waitlist answers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the project evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new “last updated” date above. When the hosted tier launches, it will publish its own data-processing terms covering that service specifically.
